Heavy Metal Steel (HMS2)
HMS 2 refers to a lower grade of heavy melting steel scrap, consisting of smaller, more mixed pieces of steel. It can include a greater variety of materials compared to HMS 1, including less clean scrap with some contamination or mixed metals.
Quality: HMS 2 typically consists of smaller, lighter, and less uniform pieces of scrap, such as shredded steel from old cars, small steel plates, or thin-walled scrap like appliances and electronics.
Contaminants: It can have more contaminants, including traces of non-ferrous metals (like aluminum or copper), rust, or non-metallic materials.
Size: HMS 2 is often smaller in size, and may also contain pieces that are not as clean as HMS 1, requiring additional processing before being used in steel production.
